Quick Start

  1. Download, install and start the program.
  2. Click the [2) Catalog] button on the Cataloger screen.
    Let the program run.

Then, see your results:

  • click [OK] when cataloging finishes
  • the Library Master screen will display your results
  • you'll see a list of files that were found on your system
  • to launch a file, click the [Launch] button (or right-click a file's row and then click Launch in the submenu)
  • to sort/search, either
    1. sort/search a column by clicking its column header, then type a search string (except for dates and times, which can't be searched here, only sorted), or
    2. search one or more columns by dragging column values down to the search list and clicking the [Search] button, or
    3. search all by entering a search string and clicking the [Search All] button (New in 2.0)
  • to change an item's information, click the [Change] button, make changes and save

To expand archives (meaning, to catalog their compressed contents), on the Cataloger screen check the Expand archives[ ] check box, then click [2) Catalog] (New in 2.0)

To harvest metadata (New in 2.0), you must have Java running on your computer.  If unsure, click the [Test Java] button.  This will tell you if Java is running on your computer.  If it is not, it will let you install it.  When Java is running, click the [Harvest metadata now] button.  This step is optional and may take a few minutes, especially the first time you catalog and there may be a lot of content to process.  To do this automatically when cataloging in the future, check the Harvest metadata while cataloging[ ] check box.
