Duplicates
Eliminate duplicate file names from the library. Choose either [ROOT ONLY] or [WHOLE FILENAME].
[ROOT ONLY] will find these 3 file names to be duplicates:
myfile.txt
myfile;cDoe,John.txt
myfile;ro;zThis is my file, and it is only for personal use.txt
[WHOLE FILENAME] will find the above 3 file names to NOT be duplicates.
If you don't use embedded codes, both options should have the same results.
You can choose [WHOLE FILENAME]. Then, later, choose [ROOT ONLY] to do a more refined check for
duplicates.
After clicking your option, a progress screen shows 2 progress bars giving an indication of
progress.
Then, a screen displays duplicate file names in its top half.
Click the [Calc. Totals] button to see how many duplicates there are, and how much storage space they
use.
Click the [Send Duplicate File Names To Dup Recycle Bin] button. Then tag the [ ]Calc. Totals
check box to confirm the numbers match those in the top half of the screen.
From here, you can tag rows and then click the [Restore Tagged Rows] button to return them to the top
half of the screen.
Any rows not returned to the top will no longer be in the library.
Clicking [Empty Duplicates Recycle Bin] will send any remaining duplicate rows to a final place where
they will await final deletion.
